Can a student choose between school based exam and board based exam in CBSE class 10th?

Does student of Class 10th have option to choose school based exam and board based exam? Does school can forcefully ask students to opt for school based exam? If so, what is the formality for appealing to higher authorities and how?

No, there is no rules or guidelines to school by board to compel to select the particular mode of examination ( school or board ).

So, the school cannot force you to select anyone. It depends upon you whether you want to appear for examination through the school or board based examination.

If there is such condition you can ask your board regional office and ask to take the action regarding it. For extra information visit at www.cbse.nic.in.

No, there is no option of choosing School based examination and board based examination for CBSE 10th standard student. Any candidate who is pursuing 10th standard from CBSE Board or any other board have to appear in respective Board examinations. Being a 10th standard CBSE student, it is mandatory that have to appear in CBSE 10th standard board examinations. Based on your score in 10th standard CSBE Board examinations, you can take admission in top schools for pursuing your higher studies.

AISSE ( All India Secondary School Examination ) i.e; CBSE Class 10th board examination is held in two modes which includes Board based examination and School based examination.

There is no much difference in both the modes as the syllabus, pattern of examination etc. are same except the place where the student will appear in second semester examination of their Class 10th.

In case of School based examination the student has to appear in their board examination in their same school where as in the case of Board based examination one has to go to the examination centre allotted by board similar to any other board examination or competitive examination.

The selection between these two modes is dependent of students choice and if any school forces to select a particular mode then you can contact your board officials of your regional office to take action.

At last I will like to advice you that, you must opt for board based examination over school based examination as I have mentioned in above paragraph that any further examination will be board based examination and before that you will have some experience of board examination which might be helpful at your further career deciding examination which you will not get in case of school based examination.

For details regarding the curriculum followed by CBSE you can refer to the link www.cbse.nic.in.

If your school organizes school based examination and not board based, than there is no option for you, rather than to change the school.

You will have to follow the school criteria and will have to adhere to their rules and regulation and if there is a provision, the school is bound to allow you to choose the examination type you wish to.

However, if you are not being allowed to select your choice of examination, you should contact the CBSE higher authorities by writing them an application or dropping a mail.

Yes you have option to choose between school based and board based examination. So no need to worry that teacher will force you for any of the particular board. According to me you should prefer board based examination and is also called external examination.
