Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) was established on Nov 1, 1973 under the supervision of Dr. P. B. Gajendragadkar. The board is responsible for making the recruitment of Scientists and similar posts specified by the President, ICAR. The major objective of the board is to make recruitment to the posts in Agricultural Research Services of ICAR and also to advise the council on Disciplinary matters related to personal recruitment. Agricultural Scientists Recruitments Board was established as an independent recruitment agency accountable to the President of ICAR society only.

Job Profile:

Eligible candidates are invited for filling up the vacants posts of Pricniapl Scientists in the various institute of Indian Council of Agricultural Research. The different institutes in which the post of Principal Scientist is available are Directorate of Maize Research, Directorate of Oilseeds Research, Indian Grassland & Fodder Research Institute, Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Central Avian Research Institute Project Directorate for Farming System Research, Directorate of Coldwater Fisheries Research, Indian Institute of Soil Science, Central Institute of Post Harvest Technology, Directorate of Rapeseed Mustard Research and Directorate of Research on Women in Agriculture.

Eligibility:

Candidates should be within the prescribed maximum age limit set for the specified post in Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Interested candidates must not have attained the age of 52 years as on 14 February 2011. Candidates should not have age more than 52 years otherwise their candidature will be cancelled straightaway. However, there is no age limit for the candidates, who are already working as employees in the council.

Educational Qualification:

The minimum educational qualification set for the post of Principal Scientist in Indian Council of Agricultural Research is Doctoral degree in the relevant field. The doctoral degree should be done from a recognized institute or university only. Few years of experience in specialization or research area is also desired for the post.

No. of posts: 24 posts are available in total.

Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with the Grade Pay of Rs. 10000.

Application Fee:

The prescribed amoutn of application fee is need to be submitted by the interested candidates. The application fee will be accepted only in the form pof Demand Draft. No other means of payment such as Indian Postal Order/Money Order/Cash etc is not acceptable at all. Name and address of the candidates alongwith the name of the post, advertisment number and item number, are need to be written on the back side of the crossed demand draft.

Selection Process:

Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board will shortlist few eligible candidates for appearing in the personal interview test with the selection committee. Only after qualifying in the personal interview test, candidates will be considered for the desired post. Indian Council of Agricultural Research is responsible for informing candidates about the date and place of the interview test.

How to apply: Completely filled in application form is need to be submitted by the candidates to the prescribed address. The application should reach to the concerned authority before the last date for the reciept of application. No application forms will be entertained after the closing date.
