Institute of Microbial Technology was established in the year 1984 under Government of India. The institute was established under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research. The institute offers Ph.D. courses alongwith the Jawaharlal Nehru University. Dr. Girish Sahni is the present Director of the institute. The institute is located at Chandigarh. The institute is engaged in the research activities in the field of immunity and infective diseases, engineering, genetics etc. The institute is well equipped with various research facilities including a lab to pilot scale fermenter.

The position of Scientist is available in the disciplines of Instrumentation and Veterinarian. 3. Recruitment of Scientist (Instrumentation):

4. Recruitment of Scientist (Veterinarian):

Interested candidates must submit the application fee of Rs. 100 (only General and OBC candidates) only. No application fee is required to be submitted by SC/ST/PWDs candidates and also bythe regular employees of CSIR. Those candidates who are applying from abroad should submit an application fee of 25 US$. The submission of application fee must be made in the form of a Demand Draft issued by State Bank of India only (except for the candidates applying from abroad). The demand draft should be made in favour of Director, IMT, Chandigarh.
