University of Pune offers the aspirants with Master of Computer science with specialization in scientific computing (M.Sc in Scientific Computing). The admission to this post graduate course is done purely on merit basis according to the candidates’ performance in the entrance exam. The exam will be conducted once in every year.

Structure of Pune University M.Sc in Scientific Computing Entrance Exam

The entrance exam will be of 2 hours duration. All questions will be of objective type multiple choice pattern. The candidates have to select the correct answer from the given four alternative options.

Syllabus of Pune University M.Sc in Scientific Computing Entrance Exam

The questions for the Pune University M.Sc in Scientific Computing Entrance Exam will be mainly from the following with approximately equal weightage to each of these sections.

  • Logical ability
  • Elementary mathematical skills (including combinatorial analysis, calculus, graph plotting, linear algebra, etc)
  • English
  • Computer fundamentals and C-programming

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates those who have completed their B.C.S / B.Sc. (Computer Science) degree with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (40% in case of reserved category candidates) are eligible to apply for the Pune University M.Sc in Scientific Computing Entrance Exam. Those with B.E degree in Computer Science/ IT / E & TC / Instrumentation & allied areas are also eligible. Also the candidates should have studied Mathematics as a compulsory subject in 11th & 12th standards. Those appearing for final examination of the qualifying degree may also apply.

How to Apply?

The application form for the Pune University M.Sc in Scientific Computing Entrance Exam can be downloaded from the official website of the University http://issc.unipune.ac.in. The duly filled application form along with demand draft of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 350/- for reserved category candidates) drawn in favour of Registrar, University of Pune and two postal stamps worth Rs. 10/- each have to be sent by post to Director, Interdisciplinary School of Scientific Computing, P.O. Box No. 27, Ganeshkhind Road, University of Pune, Pune – 411 007 before the due date. The same can also be submitted in person at Interdisciplinary School of Scientific Computing, Near Publication Department, University of Pune, Pune – 7.

How to fill the Form?

The candidates have to fill the application form very neatly and legibly in ones own handwriting. All the columns have to be filled carefully with appropriate data. Pay intense attention while filling the form so that one can avoid mistakes. The applicants’ full name has to be entered in capital letters. Duly attested recent passport size photographs have to be pasted in the boxes provided.

Study Plan
