Central Manufacturing Technology Institute was established in the year 1962 under the Government of India. Mr. B. R. Satyan is the Director of the institute. The institute is located at Tumkur Road, Bangalore. The institute was formerly known as Central Machine Tool Institute. It is basically an Reasearch and Development organization for Machine Tools and Production Engineering. The main objective of the institute is to provide support to a wide spectrum of indutry. The institute was set up as a Sectoral Information Centre under ISSAT scheme of Government of India.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for making recruitment on the following positions of Scientist B, Scientist C, Scientist D and Scientist E in Central Manufacturing Technology Institute. Only Post Graduate or Doctorate candidates are invited to apply for the specified positions.

1. Recruitment of Scientist B:
Age Limit: Maximum age limit set is 30 years.
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to have done Post Graduation or Doctorates degree in Engineering in the field of Mechanical/Electronics/Material Science/ Metallurgy from a recognized institute or university.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

2. Recruitment of Scientist C:
Age Limit: Maximum age limit set is 35 years.
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to have done Post Graduation or Doctorates degree in Engineering in the field of Mechanical/Electronics/Material Science/ Metallurgy from a recognized institute or university.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6600.

3. Recruitment of Scientist D:
Age Limit: Maximum age limit set is 45 years.
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to have done Post Graduation or Doctorates degree in Engineering in the field of Mechanical/Electronics/Material Science/ Metallurgy from a recognized institute or university.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 7600.

4. Recruitment of Scientist E:
Age Limit: Maximum age limit set is 45 years.
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to have done Post Graduation or Doctorates degree in Engineering in the field of Mechanical/Electronics/Material Science/ Metallurgy from a recognized institute or university.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 8700.

A non refundable crossed Demand Draft of Rs. 500 is need to be submitted by the candidates belonging to General and OBC categories. Rs. 200 is the amount of application fee that is need to be submitted by SC/ST candidates. The demand draft should be drawn in favour of Central Manufacturing Technology Institute, Bangalore.
