Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology is an autonomous institute of Department of Science and Technology which comes under the Minsitry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The institute has a vision of providing secured living in the Himalayan region. The major objective behind the establishment of the institute is to unravel the geological truths related to mountain building and also to improve understanding of geodynamic processes. Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology (WIHG) was established in the year 1968 under Government of India.
Job Profile:
Applications are invited from eligible Indian Nationals for filling up the vacant positions of Scientist ‘C’, Stenographer Grade-I, Research Associate and Junior Research Fellow in Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology. The number of positions mentioned can increase or decrease as per the requirment of the institute.
1. Recruitment of Scientist ‘C’:
Posts Available: Only 4 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: Ph.D. degree in any area concerned to Earth Sciences with minimum 60% marks in aggregate at the preceeding degree.
Age Limit: Candidate’s age should not exceed 40 years as on 30 March 2012.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6600.
2. Recruitment of Stenographer Grade-I:
Posts Available: Only 1 post is available.
Educational Qualification: Graudation in Science or Arts or Commerce from a recognized university with a good academic record throughout.
Age Limit: Candidate’s age should not exceed 30 years as on 30 March 2012.
Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4200.
3. Recruitment of Research Associate:
Posts Available: Only 6 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: M.Sc. or M.Tech degree in the concerned discipline with Ph.D. degree in the relevant field from a recognized institute or university.
Age Limit: Candidate’s age should not exceed 35 years as on 30 March 2012.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 16000 per month.
4. Recruitment of Junior Research Fellow:
Posts Available: Only 6 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: M.Sc. or M.Tech degree in concerned discipline from a recognized institute or university, is required for the post.
Age Limit: Candidate’s age should not exceed 28 years as on 30 March 2012.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 12000 per month.
Selection Process:
Selection of eligible candidates will be made through the conduct of a written test (if needed) and an interview test. Interested candiates will have to face and qualify both the stages of the selection process for being considered at the time of final selections.
