Syndicate Bank came into existence in the year 1925 in the city of Udupi at the Indian state of Karnataka. The bank was established by three visionaries, a physician, an engineer and a businessman, who shared a common strong commitment towards welfare of the society. Their objective was primarily to help the local weavers to protect themselves from the crises that existed in the handloom industry.

Syndicate Bank has invited applications from eligible candidates for the position of Specialist Officers and here are the details regarding the notification issued by the bank in this regard:

Name of the Vacancy: Specialist Officers

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 29, which is divided among the different positions that are commonly denoted as specialist officers:

• Chief Manager Marketing – 04 (General – 03, OBC – 01) (SMGS-Scale IV)

• Security Officer – 25 (General – 13, OBC – 06, ST – 02, SC – 04) (MMGS-Scale II)

Probation period: Candidates selected for the position of Specialist Officer, will be on probation for a period of one year and their confirmation will be decided on the basis of the provisions of the Syndicate Bank Officers Service Regulations.

Pay Scale: Candidates appointed for MMGS-II position will be getting Rs.19400-28100 as pay scale and candidates appointed for SMGS Scale IV will be getting Rs.30600-36200 as pay scale.

Eligibility requirements:

Chief Manager Marketing: For this position, candidates must be first class degree holders in MBA or they must be PG Diploma holders in marketing or finance from a recognized university and they should also have computer knowledge. They must also possess 10 years field experience in retail marketing/wealth management/capital market services/insurance/banking.

Security Officer: Candidates must be officers with five years commissioned service in Air force/navy/army or they must be police officers not below the rank of DSP/ASP with five years of service or they must be officers of identical rank in para military forces with five years of service.

Age: Minimum age limit is 30 years and maximum age limit is 45 years for the position of Chief Manager and minimum age limit is 25 years and maximum age limit is 40 years for Security Officer position.

Cost of application:

Application fee is Rs.500 for general and OBC candidates and Rs.50 for reserved category candidates. The fee can be paid in any branches of Syndicate Bank through the bank challan that can be downloaded for the website of the Syndicate Bank at http://www.syndicatebank.in/scripts/Recruitment.aspx. Payment of application fee can be done between 19th of January 2012 and 6th of February 2012.
