Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT) is situated in a district of Orissa named Dhenkanal and was set up in the year 1982. The institute is associated to the Biju Patnaik University of Technology and has got the approval of AICTE. The college received the status of an autonomous institute long back in 1984.

Courses Offered

The college offers particularly bachelors program in various engineering streams and also have a few diploma courses on some fields. For pursuing an undergraduate course in engineering one can opt from Civil Engg, Mechanical Engg, Electrical Engg, Chemical engg, Metallurgical & Materials engg. Also there are bachelors degree in humanities and basic science.

Infrastructure

The college’s location is very suitable with growing industrial region all around it. The campus covers an extensive area of 176 acres of land. There are various large playgrounds along with good hostel facilities for the outstation students. The college infrastructural development is phenomenal with modernized classrooms, well equipped laboratories and well stocked library.

Placement

Many MNCs and national companies recruit students from the college such as TCS, WIPRO, INFOSYS, SIRITECH, VEDANTA, CBT INFOTECH.

Admission Procedure and Eligibility Criteria

The admission procedure starts in June but extends till July. The aspirants should score very good ranks for getting admitted in the AIEEE examination and Orissa CET. There are also no restrictions in admission of foreign candidates if their results are up to the mark. The candidate must score an aggregate of 50% at the Higher Secondary level.
