Profile:

Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR) was set up in the year 1971. IGCAR works under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. IGCAR is the second largest establishment of the Department of Atomic Energy, the first being Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. IGCAR made its beginning by constructing a sodium cooled Fast Breeder Test Reactor [FBTR]. After that, IGCA has made excellent growth by establishing comprehensive R & D facilities covering the entire spectrum of FBR technology related to Sodium Technology, Reactor Engineering, Metallurgy and Materials, Reactor Physics, Chemistry of Fuels and its materials, Reactor Safety, Fuel Reprocessing, Control and Instrumentation, Computer Applications, etc. IGCAR also constructed the 500 MWe Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor [PFBR] using its experience and expertise in operating FBTR.

Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam invites application from eligible candidates for the post of Stipendiary Trainee (Category II) in various trades.

Eligibility:

Educational qualification – The candidates must have done ITI in relevant disciplines. For details refer IGCAR’s website.

Selection Process:

The selection of the post is through written examination and interview. Candidates will be called for the written test based on merit secured by them in the educational qualification.
