The Maharashtra State Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology was started in the year 1969 as a Food Craft Institute at Nagpur. This institute was relocated to Pune in 1974 as its main campus and it offers vocational, Diploma, Degree and postgraduate diploma courses in the fields of Hotel Management and Travel and Tourism. MSIHMCT offers a unique learning experience to the students where they are groomed not only for a successful career but also to face the challenges of life. The institute puts all effort to get higher position among the top institutes of India and earned an autonomous status in 1995.
Infrastructure:
The institute is spread over an area of 8162.14 sq. ft. The institute is situated in greenish area of Pune and is 8 kms away from the Pune railway station and 22 kms from Airport. It provides a number of facilities in its campus. The campus provides a basic training kitchen, ethnic kitchen, advance training kitchen, Housekeeping Laboratory, Front Office Lab, Air conditioned Auditorium, Library with the Latest Books, CD’s & Audio Visual Aids and computer center with 30 Multi Media Computers.

Actual list of the courses that are offered by this institute are DTT, DHMCT, BHMCT, MCVC-Bakery, MCVC-Cookery, PGDFOMT, PGDHO, PGDTT, Certificate Course in Bakery and Confectionery, Certificate Course in Basic Front Office, Certificate course in Food and Beverage Service, Certificate Course in Food Production, Certificate Course in Housekeeping, Certificate Course in Travel and Tourism courses.
Admission Procedure:
Admission of the candidates is based on the marks obtained in the higher secondary exams. Their marks should be greater than 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates). The institute offers reservation quota under the government rules.

2010 results diploma
hi i m vishal no i m working in hotel industry from last 08 years i had passed my 12th in year 2006. but now i realize that the hotel management diploma is must to progress in hotel industry. after that i decide to take an admission for diploma. So please Sir/madam can i get admission to the diploma this year? please tell me?
