Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited was initially established as Namrup Fertilizer Complex under the Government of India. later it was renamed to Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited after the bifurcation from the Hindustan Fetilizer Corporation Limited on April 1, 2002. One of the major objective behind the establishment of the corporation was to perform discovery of OIl and Natural gas in Naharkatiya region. The establishment of the corporation leads to the promotion of a serious thinking on proper utilization of gas.
