Chuadhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa has been established by government of Haryana in order to ensure easy access to higher education for students who want to pursue education for better careers. This university comprises of various faculties like:

1. Faculty of Commerce Management

2. Faculty of Education

3. Faculty of Engineering and Technology

4. Faculty of Humanities

5. Faculty of Law

These faculties are set in order to provide variety of courses to the students who are looking for higher education. There are numbered seats for all the courses and the admissions are granted on the basis of eligibility criterion set by the university’s management. This university believes in right to education and hence has taken a step forward for reservation seats as well. The reservation of seats for students is as follows:

1. 15% seats are for general quota students which can be filled by any citizen of India.

2. Rest 85% seats are reserved for Haryana residents only. Out of these seats 50% are reserved for residents of Haryana who come under the category of scheduled castes, backward classes, physically challenged, dependents of freedom fighters, Ex – servicemen and their wards.

The objective for such reservation is to promote Haryana state and the residents here. This university is like a hope for the residents of Haryana considering the fact that all students can go outside the state to pursue higher education. There are total 19 courses offered in Chuadhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa. These courses can be named as, M. Tech (CSE), M.C.A., M.Sc. (Biotechnology), M.Sc. (Physics), M.Sc. (Chemistry), M.Sc. (Mathematics), M.Sc. (Food Science and Technology), M.Sc. (Environmental Science), M.B.A. (General), M.B.A. (Business Economics), M.Com., M.A. (Mass Communication), M.P.Ed., M.A. (English), M.A. (Economics), M.A. (Public Administration), LL.B., B.Ed. and C.P.Ed.
