Fee structure of Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)

Bachelor of Computer applications abbreviated as BCA is an undergraduate professional course, which is of duration of 3 years and comprises of a total of six semesters. It deals with the aim of developing sound technical knowledge in the field of Computer Science and its applications. It’s not engineering but definitely has an engineering base, tilted slightly towards the software side of computing.

The fees structure of BCA varies from university to university and institute to institute if it’s a Non-AICTE course. In the case of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprasta University, New Delhi, it’s an AICTE course, while it’s a non-AICTE course in West Bengal.

The fees structures for all colleges affiliated under the GGSIP University are as under:

Per Semester Fee: Rs. 25,250 for the session 2010-2011

Additional Library Fee and Admission Fee payable to the respective colleges

To study in any college under GGSIP you have to shell anything from Rs. 48,000 to Rs. 51,000 per annum on the fees for BCA.

The fees structures for the colleges affiliated under the West Bengal University of Technology are as under:

Per semester fee: Anything between Rs. 23,000 per annum to Rs. 35,000 per annum depending upon the institute you are studying. The university has no ruling on the upper limit of fees collected from students, and it varies from institutes to institutes, so please check with the institute for the exact fees.

Library and Admission fee are payable to the respective colleges, WBUT also charges Rs. 2000 as university development fund for the entire course, which is a one time payment, and also charges a per semester exam fee of Rs. 600. That is to be paid to the university through respective colleges in properly filled and duly signed forms. Since BCA is a non-AICTE course, hence its very hard to predict the exact fee of a college. Heritage Academy with 44,000 per semester is the most expensive institute under the university, while the average fee for a BCA in WBUT comes to around Rs. 30,000 per semester.
