I am a resident of Kanpur. I am appearing for my class 12th in March 2012 and intend to do B.Tech. Though I’ve focused on my academics, I haven’t given any special attention to preparing for Competitive Examinations like IIT-JEE. Consequently, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to perform well in IIT-JEE-2012 or UPSEE-2012. Based on my personal level of understanding, I’ve planned to drop for an year to prepare for UPSEE-2013. My priority is to take admission in a reputed government institute of Kanpur like HBTI or IIT.
It is noticeable that people frequently comment about SEEs, claiming that their syllabus and level of questions, are often more or less based on the 11th & 12th academic course, unlike the IIT-JEE, that goes a way beyond regular academics and tests the very core of a person’s understanding and logical skills.I aspire to get a good result in UPSEE since that wouldn’t require me leaving my hometown to study Engineering.
In this context, which type of educational institution, if any, should I join, or should I focus on self-study of the class 11th & 12th academic?
