Vikram University, Ujjain
The Vikram University came into existence on the date that longs much more back in history i.e. 1st March 1957. When the university was established in the city of Ujjain, the jurisdiction of the university was much limited to the city itself but soon after the university prepared itself to grow its roots outside and thus in a very well manner displayed its capabilities to be one of the leading universities of the state of Madhya Pradesh, the act of the establishment of the university was amended several times to accommodate and thus change the jurisdiction of the university which today involves many districts including Ujjain like Ratlam, Neemuch etc. being the independent revenue districts of the state. And thus has distinctly differentiated among the other universities in Gwalior and Indore etc.
In the view of the changing jurisdiction of the university, the university has always been affiliating new colleges and some of the previous affiliated colleges go out of the university reign to get themselves associated to some of the other upcoming universities in the area. In the present scenario of the Vikram University, it includes 2 institutional colleges which are a part of the university campus and apart from this the university has affiliated 85 other colleges within its reign. The university also operates on the basis of its departments which when counted today results to 23 with 4 special centers also being present. These departments are allocated to different faculties in the university like the faculty of life sciences, social sciences, arts, physical sciences, commerce, education, information technology and management.
The admission to the university takes place on the basis of the admission test conducted and whose results are well displayed on the university official website shortlisting all the candidates who have applied for either of the course available in the university according to their eligibility criteria.
