BCECE or Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination is conducted by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board for those students seeking admission into Engineering, Medical or Agricultural courses.

Selection is made on merit in BCECE conducted at various centers in the State. The successful candidates are notified through leading State newspapers /colleges.14% of the seats are reserved for SC, 10% for ST, and 10% for BC. Seats are also reserved for Central Government nominees.

Pattern of BCECE:

For engineering programs, the questions consist of:

• Physics

• Mathematics

• Chemistry

For Medical and Agricultural programs, the questions are based on:

• Physics

• Biology

• Chemistry

The syllabus for Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) largely depends upon the candidates’ choice of fields. The questions in the entrance test are based on the subjects of Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (10+2) examination. To prepare, the candidates, who have taken Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) group, have to prepare for all the theories and basics of subjects including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, along with Biology. On the other hand, the admission seekers, who have taken Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) group, have to prepare  for Physics, Chemistry and Biology along with Mathematics.

Eligibility for BCECE:

• The candidates should be above 17 years of age. For the reserved categories’ candidates, there is a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit.

• The candidates must have passed Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (10+2) or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Mathematics.

• The candidates who have appeared in the final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply to appear in the competitive entrance test.

Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board conducts entrance test in two stages – the first stage is usually held in the month of January and the second stage is conducted in the month of May / June. Candidates can appear in any of the two stages, according to their preferred field.
