Gujarat Ayurved University was established in the year 1966 as a part of the reorganization of Ayurveda. The university is mainly devoted to Ayurvedic studeis and research. Professor M. S. baghel is the Vice Chancellor of the University and Mr. Nawal Kishore Sharma is the Chairman of the university. The institute offers various courses such as B.A.M.S., PG in Yoga and naturopathy, M.Sc. etc. The university is a UGC affiliated university with rural campus. The institute was established as the first statutory university of its kind.

A Demand Draft of Rs. 200 from any nationalized bank is need to be submitted as the application fee. The DD must be drawn in favour of Director, I.P.G.T. & R.A. and it should be payable at Jamnagar only. All category candidates are required to pay this application fee.
