The NIMHANS PG Medical Entrance Exam is carried out by the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) for the admittance of students into its postgraduate courses.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are applying for this exam must have finished their MBBS from an institution that is accepted by the Indian Medical Council. Those candidates who are in their final year or will finish their internship prior to the beginning of the course can apply too. They must have scored at least 55 percent marks in their Bachelors degree.

Application Procedure

Candidates can apply for the entrance exam by the online or offline methods.

Online Method

It is possible for the candidates to download the form and brochure from the authorized website of the NIMHANS: www.nimhans.kar.nic.in . The filled up form should be sent to the office of the NIMHANS along with a DD of the essential amount. The necessary documents should be attached with the form.

Offline Method

The exam application form can be collected from the institute. Candidates can also purchase their form by post. The price of the application fee for the general candidates is Rs. 1000/- and for the candidates belonging to the reserved categories is Rs. 750/-. Candidates who wish to get their forms through post must send a request letter to the office of NIMHANS alongside a demand draft of the correct amount. The candidates must remember to note their registration number at the top side of the request letter along with their specimen signature at the reverse side of demand draft. The forms should be sent to the NIMHANS as early as possible.

• The candidates should fill the form in English only.
• The candidates must fill the form only in capital letters.
• The candidates should use only black or blue pens when they fill the form.
• A recent photograph of the candidate should be pasted in the space provided.
