Midnapore Medical College & Hospital began to offer education to the first batch of MBBS students from the year 2004 with affiliation from the West Bengal University of Health Sciences and from the Medical Council of India.

Subjects covered under MBBS:
The MBBS course offered by Midnapore Medical College is divided into three parts and final part is further divided into two parts. The subjects covered in the first MBBS are biochemistry, physiology and anatomy, in the second MBBS, the subjects are FSM, Microbiology, Pharmacology and pathology. In the third MBBS first part, subjects like ENT, Ophthalmology and community medicine are covered, while in the second part, the subjects like orthopedics, pediatrics, gynecology & obstetrics, surgery, medicine and allied subjects are covered.
Admission Procedure:
For the MBBS course, Midnapore Medical College & Hospital has an intake capacity of 100 students and admission to this course is done through joint entrance examination called as WBBJEE conducted by the West Bengal State Government. For DMLT course, the intake capacity of the college is 20 students and admission of students to this course is done by the Medical Faculty of the state of West Bengal.
Workshops & Seminars conducted by the college:
The different departments of medicine functioning in the college conduct workshops and seminars pertaining to their subjects so as to offer a widespread knowledge to the students and the college also arranges for guest lectures during the seminars. In the month of July 2010, the department of microbiology functioning in Midnapore Medical College arranged for a workshop on HIV and external quality assurance. Above all, the college is engaged in several research activities as well.

is there any OBC cota for medical Admission?and what is the qualifying percentage for OBC students?
1. The age of the candidate must be from 17 years to 25 years.
2. The candidate should also be a citizen of India.
