Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) came into existence in 1987 under the Companies Act, 1956. NPCIL comes under the Union Government and it works under the administrative control of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. The primary aim of the NPCIL is to involve in nuclear power generation for electricity. The Mission of the NPCIL is to develop nuclear power technology in such a manner to meet the increasing electricity needs of the country.
