The Venkataramana Ayurveda College came into existence in the year 1979. When the college was established, it was affiliated to the University of Madras. The College transferred its affiliation to the Tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R.Medical University in 1989.

The college offers superior quality education in the field of Ayurveda Medicine. The college admits 20 students every year for B.A.M.S course. The college serves as one of the top Ayurvedic College in India. It located at Korattur in Chennai, and its Administrative Office is located at Coimbatore.

The college works under the control of the R.V.S Educational Trust which is located at Dindigul. The R.V.S Trust also runs RVS College of Health Sciences that is affiliated to the Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in Chennai and is approved by the AICTE. The Founder and Chairman of the R.V.S Educational Trust is Dr. K. V. Kuppusamy.

Courses offered:

The Venkataramana Ayurveda College offers Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine & Surgery (B.A.M.S) course. The course duration is 5 ½ Years.

Eligibility criteria for getting admission:

Candidates must have passed in Higher Secondary examination including Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects with at least 50% marks. The candidates must have also passed in Common Entrance Examination (CEE) that is conducted for admission in B.A.M.S programme.

Infrastructure:

The Venkataramana Ayurveda College offers excellent infrastructure facilities like library, computer and internet facilities, Xeroxing facility, laboratories, extracurricular activities, and an active placement cell. The college has an excellent campus, and offers a pleasant environment for learning Ayurveda.

The library of the college includes about 3280 titles and 26436 volumes of books besides the 35 journals subscribed regularly.
