How to Prepare for ISAT?
The Indian Institute of Space science and Technology is a deemed university. The institute conducts IIST admission test. The ISAT is conducted every year for candidate’s admission into under graduate programs. Bachelors of Technology courses are offered by this institute in aerospace engineering, physical science and avionics. The IIST conducts an entrance test in all over India. A large number of candidates appear for this exam.
Structure of ISAT
The ISAT exam consists of multiple choice questions. The candidate has to select the right answer from the four options provided. The candidate has to answer for all questions in two sessions. The duration of each session is two hours. The questions are from chemistry, physics and mathematics. There is negative marking so candidates need to be careful not to attempt unsure questions. The candidates will loose one mark for the same. The questions and instructions are only in English.
Syllabus of ISAT
The candidate should study the following areas for Physics
- Thermodynamics
- Properties of matter
- Electromagnetism
- Optics and waves
- Mechanics and laboratory related questions
For chemistry, they have to cover
- Physical Chemistry
- Organic Chemistry
- Environmental Chemistry
- Inorganic chemistry
For maths, the candidate should study
- Trigonometry
- Vector Algebra
- Statistics and probability
- Matrices and determinants
- Limit, sets, relations and functions
- Binomial theorem etc.
They have to memorize all the formulas for all three subjects. The candidate should know all short cut methods in Maths.
Reference Books for ISAT
To prepare for this test, the candidate has to study 11th and 12th standard syllabus. They can refer NCERT guide book for the purpose of preparation.
Study Plan for ISAT
The candidate should study all the subjects thoroughly. They will get objective type questions from this. They can search for online guide. This type of guide will have previous year question paper and mock tests. After their complete preparation, they can practice this mock test. This will help them to analyze their preparation level as well they can learn from their mistakes. They have to prepare time table for all the three subjects and follow it strictly. Thus, they can complete their preparation soon and can practice many mock tests. Moreover, they should start their exam preparation earlier. The candidate should not get any fear on the day of exam. They should have more confident on that day. Therefore, they can write their exam well.
