Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) controls and administers a fixed group of temples in the Tirumala-Tirupati area from the year 1933, based on the special act passed by the Madras Legislature, through a Commissioner appointed by the Government of Madras. Among those temples Sri Venkateswara Temple is a sacred and ancient temple of lord Sri Venkateswara. The temple is located on the seventh peak, Venkatachala (Venkata Hill) of the Tirupati Hill.

The temple holds exclusive sacredness in Indian religious experience and many people in India respect this temple as their family temple for generations to generations. The administration of TTD was hand over to a Board of Trustees, and an Executive Officer appointed by the Government of Madras in the year 1951. TTD has organized efficient systems to ensure the smooth movement of pilgrims, since more than fifty thousand pilgrims visit the Sri Venkateswara Temple every day. TTD provides many facilities such as food, milk, coffee, tea, medical aid, toilets, and cloak rooms for the waiting pilgrims.
