Diploma in Pharmacy shortly called as D. Pharm or D. Pharma is a two-year diploma course offered by pharmacy colleges and some of the polytechnics in India. This course is the minimum educational qualification needed for aspirants, who are interested in becoming a registered pharmacist. This course does not offer any specialization as is offered in the M. Pharm course, rather it teaches about the basic concepts of pharmaceutical science.

All these colleges are approved by the Pharmacy Council of India to offer Diploma in Pharmacy course.

Eligibility for seeking admission to the Diploma in Pharmacy Course:

For seeking admission to the Diploma in Pharmacy offered by the afore-mentioned colleges, candidates must have completed their SSC or equivalent examination in biology/mathematics, chemistry and physics subjects.

Higher studies after Diploma in Pharmacy:

On completion of Diploma in Pharmacy course, candidates can go for degree programs in any of the fields like dentistry, medicine, pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical sciences, chemistry or any other health related fields. Some of the popular foreign universities are offering two-year exemption for the Science of Pharmacy degrees offered by them for diploma in pharmacy holders. They can become full-fledged pharmacist by continuing their education in their own field of education being pharmacy education.

Future job prospects of Diploma in Pharmacy holders:

On successful completion of this course candidates registering with Pharmacy Council of India or State Pharmacy Council can set up their own pharmacy/medical store to stock and sell medicine and to dispense them as per the rules prescribed by the council for medical practitioners. After completion of this course, candidates can also join as medical representative in Pharmacy companies.

    I am Madhumita sarkar.In 2011i was studdy d.pharma at coochbehar gov polytec collage in westbengal. but after 6month i was shift in delhi for my marrage perpose.last 2year I am stay in delhi and in between i complet dmlt.but I am not interest to contenue mlt I want to back in d.pharma soooooo plase guide or sugest me what I should do for contenew or restart d.pharma in gov collge?????????
