Pallavan Grama Bank came into existence in the year 2006 on the 31st of August with the sponsorship of the Indian Bank. This bank was formed by amalgamating Vallalar Grama Bank belonging to Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu and Adhiyaman Grama Bank belonging to the Dharmapuri District of Tamil Nadu.

Initially, before the formation of Pallavan Grama Bank (i.e.) before the amalgamation of the prior-mentioned two banks, the later bank was functioning in two districts namely Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri, while the former bank was functioning in two districts being Villupuram and Cuddalore. However, after the amalgamation of these two banks (i.e.) Pallavan Grama Bank was allotted with eleven districts thereby bringing 15 districts of Tamil Nadu wherein the newly formed Pallavan Grama Bank is operating.

Pallavan Grama Bank has invited applications from eligible Indian candidates for the post of Office Assistant:

Name of the position: Office Assistant (Multipurpose)

Number of Vacancies: 55 (SC-10, OBC – 14 and General – 31)

Pay Scale: Rs. 7200-19300 and other allowances as per the bank rules

Eligibility requirement:

Educational qualification: Candidates must have completed their UG degree from a recognized university and they should be proficient in Tamil language. Candidates with computer knowledge will be given preference.

Age requirement: Minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 28 years. Relaxation of upper age limit is permitted to reserved category candidates.

Selection Procedure:

Candidates will be selected for the position of Office Assistant (multipurpose) in Pallavan Grama Bank, based on the performance in written test and interview. The written test will be conducted for 70 marks and 30 marks is allotted for interview. There will be negative marking for each wrong answer. The written test is planned to be held on 31st of July 2011.

Candidates fulfilling the eligibility requirement must apply online through the website of Pallavan Grama Bank at www.pallavangramabank.in between the 24th of May 2011 to 13th of June 2011. The bank will not encourage any other form of application. Candidates will have to pay the application fee of Rs. 250 and postal charge of Rs.50 (Application fee is not applicable for SC/ST/PC/Ex-servicemen candidates) by making use of the appropriate challans for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) available from the website of the Pallavan Grama Bank at http://www.pallavangramabank.in/dloads/Challans/Challan%2003.pdf or Indian Bank at http://www.pallavangramabank.in/dloads/Challans/IB%20Challan%2003.pdf.
