Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University shortly called as GADVASU came into existence recently in the year 2005 and the university began its functions from the 21st of April 2006 for the promotion of health and prevention of diseases in animals through integrated research and extension and educational programmes and for promotion of livestock production.
Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University is offering education and conducting research in the fields of animal biotechnology, fisheries, dairy science & technology and veterinary sciences through its constituent colleges namely College of Veterinary Science, Veterinary Polytechnic, School of Animal Biotechnology, College of Fisheries, College of Dairy Science & Technology and College of Veterinary Sciences. The university is working with its motto as knowledge for service of animals and mankind. Admission of students to the aforesaid courses offered by the constituent colleges of the university are done based on the performance of the students in Common Entrance Test conducted by the Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. A directorate of Extension Education is also functioning under the university and there is also a directorate of Student’s Welfare to offer the best support to the students in the case of any issues.
