Uttarakhand Technical University is located in the city called Dehradun and it is a state university situated at the Indian State of Uttarakhand. The university offers courses under categories like Information technology, hotel management, architecture, pharmacy, management and engineering through the colleges affiliated to it.

The university offers graduation and post-graduation courses like B.H.M.C.T, B. Arch, B. Pharma, B. Tech, MCA, MBA, M. Pharma and M. Tech. It admits students to the B. Tech and M. Tech courses through Uttarakhand Technical University Entrance Examination also called as UTUEE. B. Tech course includes branches like civil engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Bio-chemical engineering and electronics & communication engineering Admission to MCA programs is also done through MCA Combined Examination. Among the affiliated colleges, 25 colleges are engineering colleges of which two colleges are government colleges and the remaining 23 colleges are private colleges. In most of the private engineering colleges, every year 60 students are admitted for each branch of engineering and in government colleges an average of 40-45 students are admitted.

Of the above-mentioned list of colleges, 13 colleges are offering Bachelor and Master degree in pharmacy and every year 60 students are admitted for these courses as well. Six of these colleges are offering hotel management courses and 25 colleges are offering MBA and 18 are offering MCA. The intake of student varies from 45-180 in the case of MCA and 30-150 in the case of MBA course.
