Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya is an agricultural university in the state of Madhya Pradesh located in the city of Jabalpur. The university came into existence in the year 1964 on the 2nd of October to mark the occasion of the Date of Birth of father of the nation. The university is presently offering education through different constituent colleges working under its control.

Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya has invited applications from eligible candidates for the post of Scientist to work in the ICAR Projects and Biotechnology Centre of the university.

Name of the Position: Scientist/Assistant Professor

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 25, which is divided as follows:

• For ICAR Projects - 22

o Agronomy – 02 (UR-1, ST-1)

o Horticulture – 03 (UR-1, ST-1, SC-1)

o Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry – 02 (SC-1, ST-1)

o Plant Breeding & Genetics – 05 (UR-2, ST-1, SC-1, OBC-1)

o Post Harvest Process & Food Engineering – 01 (ST)

o Entomology – 01 (ST)

o Plant Pathology – 06 (UR-2, ST-2, SC-1, OBC-1)

o Biochemistry – 01 (UR)

o Statistics – 01 (R)

• For Biotechnology Centre - 03

• Agriculture Biotechnology – 03 (UR–2, ST-1)

Pay Scale: Candidates selected for the post of Scientist, will come under the pay scale of Rs.8000 – 275 – 13500/-

Eligibility requirements:

Educational qualification:

For the position of scientist/assistant professor, candidates must have passed National Eligibility Test held by UGC/CSIR or ICAR of other central agency. In  addition, candidates must possess Ph. D in appropriate field.

Assistant Professor: In addition to the aforesaid educational qualification, for the post of Assistant Professor, candidates must possess PG or equivalent degree in the concerned subject with good academic record in the concerned subject; Ph. D with at least 2nd division PG degree with minimum 50% of marks or high 2nd division (55% marks) master’s degree without Ph. D and Bachelor’s degree with 2nd division (50%).

Application fee of Rs.400 (Rs.150 for candidates belonging to SC/ST category) should be paid in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favor of JNKVV payable at Jabalpur.
