Uranium Corporation of India Limited is a public enterprise which comes under the administrative control of Department of Atomic Energy for Uranium Mining and Uranium Processing. The corporation is actually an centrally owned Public Sector Undertaking. The corporation was founded in the year 1967. The corporation operates mines at four different places with its headqaurter located at Singhbhum. Jaduguda is the first uranium mine of India. Jaduguda is located in the state of Jharkhand and started its operations in the year 1967. Recently, the corporation has decided to start two underground mines in Jharkhand.
