Bureau of Indian Standards is an organization which comes under the control of Government of India. The bureau is a National Standards Body of India. The bureau performs all its operations under the aegis of Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution. The buearu was founded in the year 1947 as a corporate body. Thebureau is consist of total 25 members. The headquarter of the buearu is located at New Delhi and it has its regional offices located in different states of the country. The bureau also consists of total 19 branch offices. Formulation of Indian Standards is one of the major function of bureau.
Job Profile:
Bureau of Indian Standards is inviting online applications from eligible and qualified candidates for filling up the following vacant positions of Scientist B. The vacancies are available in the disciplines of Mechanical/Metallurgy, Civil, Food/Microbiology/Bio Chemistry, Electrical/ Electronics and Computer Science & Engineering.
Eligibility:
Candidates should have age in between 21 to 27 years as on 9 September 2011. The minimum age limit set for the post is 21 years and the maximum age limit set for the post is 27 years. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD or Ex-Serviceman categories may get relaxation of few years in the maximum age limit. The maximum age limit set for the departmental candidates serving in BIS is 50 years. SC/ST candidates will get relaxation of 5 years while OBC category candidates will get relaxation of 3 years.
Educational Qualification:
Vacancies in Mechanical/Metallurgy/Civil/Electrical/Electronics/Food/Computer discipline: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent with atleast 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute or university.
Vacancies in Food/Microbiology/Bio Chemistry/Computer Science/Computer Engineering discipline: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent with atleast 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute or university.
No. of posts: Total 115 posts are available.
Mechanical/Metallurgy: Total 61 posts are available.
Civil: Total 22 posts are available.
Food/Microbiology/Biochemistry: Total 17 posts are available.
Electrical/Electronics: Total 12 posts are available.
Computer Science/Computer Engineering: Total 3 posts are available.
Pay Scale: Selected candidates will get the prescribed amount of salary i.e. Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.
Application Fee:
A non refundable application fee of Rs. 750 is need to be submitted by the interested candidates. The application fee must be paid through National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) mode only. No fee is required to be submitted by SC/ST/Ex-Serviceman/PWD/Women candidates. Candidates are required to produce the reciept of remittance of fee at the time of written test.
How to apply: Candidates should apply online through BIS website. No other means or mode of submission of applications will be accepted under any circumstances. Candidates are required to have a valid personal e-mail ID. Candidates will not be allowed to made any correction or modification once the online application is registered.
