The Information Science is a course which helps to learn the way to convey the information to mass. Library is a place where information and knowledge are stored. A library is a way to judge any institutions, the information and quality of books are the main qualities of any library.

Paper Pattern:

Questions in the paper are of subjective type. Questions asked are generally of descriptive type. Questions are from the syllabus and need to be answered in own words as far as possible. Total questions to be solved are 5, 1st 4 questions are with their alternative and last question is of 6 short notes and 4 from them are to be solved. All questions are compulsory. Short notes are to be answered within 250 words. Questions should be solved with the help of diagram and examples wherever required.

Frequently asked questions:

Questions asked are such as salient features of data centres, deinstitutionalised information services, non-print conventional data and effects of it, NISCAIR, traits of a database, short notes based on yearbooks, J-GATE, translators etc. Questions in the paper are of subjective type, and required a good command in the language. Topics in the paper are of various type and candidates should have a good knowledge on current affairs.

Total marks and time allotted:

Maximum marks which can be awarded in this paper are 100 and time allotted for the paper is 3 hours only. Each question is of 20 marks and short notes are of 5 marks each.
