Savitribai Phule Women’s Engineering College was established by the Lokvikas Educational and Charitable Trust and the college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education. The college offers engineering courses to women students with approval from the Government of Maharashtra and with affiliation from the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University located in Aurangabad.

The college has been functioning from the academic year 2008-09 to offer technical platform to the girls in the region of Aurangabad.

Savithribai Phule Women’s Engineering College offers the engineering courses through the following departments:

First year engineering

Electronics and Telecommunication

Computer Science and Engineering

Information Technology

Electronics Engineering

The first year engineering course is given as a separate department since for all the four branches of engineering course, first year course is common. In addition to the UG courses in engineering offered through the previously mentioned departments, Savitribai Phule Women’s Engineering College has introduced Master of Engineering in Electronics as well as a new course.

Admission Criteria:

Admission to first year engineering courses:

According to the rules framed by the Director of Technical Education, girl students, who have completed their higher secondary or equivalent exam with English and securing not less than 50% of marks in chemistry, mathematics and physics subjects are eligible to apply for the first year engineering course offered by the Savitribai Phule Women’s Engineering College. In the case of candidates belonging to reserved category, the required minimum percentage of marks is 40% in the higher secondary examination. Even diploma holders in engineering, who have passed with at least 45% of marks, are eligible to apply for the first year engineering course offered by the college.

Direct Second Year Admission Engineering Courses:

Diploma holders, who have completed their engineering diploma in first class from the MSBTE or equivalent technical education board, are eligible to apply directly to the second year of the engineering degree courses offered by the college. Even candidates, who have completed their Bachelor of Science from a recognized university with not less than 50% of marks (45% of reserved category), are eligible to apply to the second year of the engineering course, if they have studies mathematics as a subject at the higher secondary level.

Fee:

Savitribai Phule Women’s Engineering College, collects fee according to the guidelines issued by the Maharashtra Government and fee concessions is applicable for meritorious and reserved category candidates.
