Loreto College came into existence in the year 1912 and it is a Women’s College offering education with affiliation from the Calcutta University. The college holds the pride of being the first college in the state of West Bengal to be assessed by the NAAC and awarded with a rating of five star in the year 2000. The college established its B. Ed department in the year 1913 and this department has earned B+ grade from the NAAC in the year 2003 and it is also recognized by the National Council for Technical Education.

Bachelor of Arts (honors):
A candidate, who wishes to apply for the B.A. (honors) course, must choose her honors subject from any one of the above subjects and any two electives from the following seven groups:
• Group I: Human Rights/film studies/education
• Group II: History
• Group III: Economics
• Group IV: Political Science
• Group V: Psychology/Journalism & Mass communication
• Group VI: English
• Group VII: Bengali
Bachelor of Science (honors):
In the Bachelor of Science honors in Geography, human rights/political science and economics are the two electives available to the students. In the Bachelor of Science honors in Psychology course, history/political science/Education and economics are the two electives available to the students.
Bachelor of Arts (General):
Candidates can choose three electives from any of the following combinations:
• Economics, history, education/political science
• Geography, political science, English/Hindi/Bengali
• History, Education, English/Hindi/Bengali

Bachelor of Science (General):

My daughter is interested to study in English hon’ from next session that is 2014,as she is appearing for her I S E examination on feb march 2014.
