The paper of the Measurements & Instrumentation is a good paper to secure full marks; it is the study of different instruments and their construction to the basic level. The paper is the implementation of Electrical & Electronics in the practical life.
What Pattern is followed?
The paper of Measurements & Instrumentation contains on an average 15 questions. These questions once again are divided in 2 groups for the students. Section 1 is of 10 very short answer type problems and these are of equal value of marks, all are required to be solved. Section 2 is of 5 short answer type questions and these questions are with their own alternative, these are also of same marks. The questions asked are not kept as sub-questions.
Questions asked often:
Examples of such questions which are asked: resolution and sensitivity, calibration, the limitations of Wheatstone bridge, applications on Wien’s bridge, essential part of a ramp type Digital voltmeter, application of the digital voltmeter, recorder, working principle of sampling oscilloscope, working of a standard sweep generator , the neat block diagram explain the function of a AF signal generator, circuit diagram of Maxwell’s bridge , block diagram of a general purpose CRO , explain the circuit of a digital frequency meter, various types of Digital Voltmeters, basic block diagram of a dual trace oscilloscope, various application of the Spectrum analyser etc.
Tips of the exam:
The candidates should well revise the whole syllabus before the paper. The principles and derivation of them are asked in every year’s paper, so that should be revised correctly.
Full Marks:
The paper gives a chance to score 80 marks in it.
Time span:
The paper is of 3 hours to solve it.
