The degree in engineering is a demanding course; students getting a degree of B.E. in Civil are eligible to get job after the completion of their course. The various sectors including government sector are open for them to get job. This stream is a core one and will never go off the demand.

What is taught in this paper?

The paper deals with the study of co-curricular things related to a company such as motivation, maintenance, proper guidance etc. These things don’t seem to be important but they have a great value in jobs.

Importance of this subject:

The paper is not directly attached with the branch but it is a compulsory subject as it enhances the ability of a student dealing in proper management and maintaining the responsibility towards society. Ethics teaches them the values of morals which their parents and teachers have inculcated in them from their childhood. They get to know what is right and what is wrong. They can take proper decisions and come out of tough situations by taking correct decisions.

Paper Pattern:

The paper of Principles of Management & Professional ethics is a theoretical paper. There are 15 questions in the paper which are divided into 2 sections; Section A is of 10 very short answer type questions, each are of equal marks and each question is compulsory whereas Section B is of 5 long answer type questions, each of equal marks and each question is with its own alternative. In some questions, answers should be in a form of flow chart or diagram.

The questions asked in the paper are such as theories of leadership, corporate social responsibility, strategies needed to maintain ethics, barriers to effective communication, Transactional Analysis, theories of motivations, types of maintenance, contributions of Taylor to management, forms of industrial ownership etc.

Marks and time:

The paper is of 100 marks and time is 3 hours only to solve the paper. Each question in Section is of 2 marks and each question in Section B is of 12 marks.
