Border Security Force was formed on December 1, 1965 as a border patrol agency under Government of India. The force was incorporated as a component of the paramilitary forces of India. The force mainly aims to gaurd international borders of the country during peacetime. Preventing transnational crime is also one of the primary objective of the force. The force comes under the administrative control of Ministry of Home Affairs. There are approximately 240000 personnel employed in the force. The force is even considered as the largest border patrol forces in the world.

Job Profile:

Directorate General Border Security Force is making recruitment of eligible Indian Nationals on the vacant Group ‘A’ positions of Assistant Commandant (Works) and Assistant Commandant (Electrical). Candidates are required to ensure their eligibility for the post before applying for it in Directorate General Border Security Force.

Eligibility:

The minimum age limit set for both the posts is 21 years as on closing date of reciept of application.
The maximum age limit set for both the posts is 26 years as on closing date of reciept of application.

Interested candidates must follow this age criteria or else they will not be considered eligible for the post. The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates while OBC candidates and Government Employees will get relaxation of only 3 years in the upper age limit.

Physical Standard:

Height: For Men-165 cms (Minimum) and For Women-157 cms (Minimum).
Chest: For Men-81 cms (Unexpanded)
Weight: For Men-50 kgs and For Women- According to height but not less than 46 kgs.

Educational Qualification:

Assistant Commandant (Works): Graduation degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institute or university is required for this post.

Assistant Commandant (Electrical): Graduation degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institute or university is required for this post.

Assistant Commandant (Works): Only 19 posts are available.
Assistant Commandant (Electrical): Only 7 posts are available.

Pay Scale:

Assistant Commandant (Works): Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.
Assistant Commandant (Electrical): Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

Application Fee:

Candidates are required to submit an application fee of Rs. 50 only (only General and OBC candidates). No fees is need to be submitted by SC/ST candidates. The application fee must be submitted in the form of a crossed Bank Draft or Indian Postal Order. The bank draft should be made in favour of The Inspector General or DIG/Comdt to whom the application is addressed. It should be payable at respective State Bank of India or post office.

How to apply: Application form in the prescribed format should be sent alongwith the other required enclosures in an envelope only. The envelope should be superscribed with the name of the post applied for. The envelope should be sent to the designated officers as stated in the detailed advertisement.
