B.D. Shah College of Education came into existence in the year 1968 and the college holds the pride of having received the award for the best education college from the Government of Gujarat. It is a government-aided institution managed by the M.L. Gandhi Education Society located at Modasa and the college is affiliated to the Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University located at Patan.

Course Details:

As understood from the name of the college, B.D. Shah College of Education is a teacher-education institution offering Bachelor of Education course. Every year, the academic term for the institution begins from the 15th of June and ends on the 26th of April the following year. The B. Ed course offered by the B.D. Shah College of Education includes the following seven compulsory papers:

1. Philosophical and sociological foundations & education

2. Development of learner and teaching learning- process

3. Development of education and Management in Secondary Education

4. Information & Communication Technology in Education

5. Elective Subjects (Any One)

Eligibility requirement and admission procedure:

Basic educational qualification needed for seeking admission to the Bachelor of Education course is that candidates must have completed their graduation with not less than 45% of marks. Admission of students to the B. Ed course is done according to the following weightage policy followed by the institution:

• 95% of weightage to the candidates who have completed their graduation from the North Gujarat University

• 5% of weightage to the candidates with graduation from any other university
