IBPS has recently issued notification for the selection of candidates to Specialist Officer Posts. IBPS is conducting the exam in behalf of 19 nationalized banks in the country.  Eligible candidates can get in to the designation of Specialist Officer only by passing the common written examination carried by IBPS. Those who pass this common written exam will be issued a scorecard. The candidate should apply again for the notification issued by each of the participating bank. Each bank has their specifications for the recruitment process. Therefore, scorecard holders should go through the notification of each bank clearly before submitting the application for interview.

Structure of IBPS Specialist Officer Exam

The written examination of IBPS Specialist Officer Exam is of two-hour duration. The total number of questions for the examination is 200. There will be four sections and each individual section carries 50 questions each and is an objective type test. One mark is given for each correct answer where as ¼ marks is reduced for each wrong answer. The syllabus of Law Officer Scale I and II as well as Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale I) are different from other posts. The detailed syllabus for the test is mentioned below.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for each of the posts will be different.

I.T. Officer (Scale-I) - The candidate who possesses any of the educational qualifications (mentioned below) can apply for the post. The age of the candidate must fall with in 20- 35 years (common for Scale I posts).

Agricultural Field Officer (Scale I) - The candidate who possesses any of the educational qualifications (mentioned below) can apply for the post.

Marketing Officer (Scale I) - Candidates who have any of the below mentioned qualification can apply

  • MBA (Marketing)
  • PGDBA / PGDBM or equivalent degree
  • Diploma with specialization in Marketing

I.T. Officer (Scale-II) - The educational qualifications required for I.T. Officer (Scale-II) is same as that of I.T. Officer (Scale-I). However, the post requires 1-year job experience and the age of the candidate must be with in 21-40 years.

Law Officer (Scale II) - A Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) is the educational qualification required. 3-year work experience in any of the following is also required.

  • Practice at Bar
  • Practice at Judicial service
  • Law Officer in any Legal Department under government along with practice at bar

How to Apply?

Before filling the application, the candidate should make the fee payment for the examination through online or offline mode. Those who pay through offline method must pay through any of the banks mentioned below.

The fee amount of Rs. 450/- must be paid by downloading the fee Challan from the official website of IBPS. After completing the fee payment the candidate, can start the application process. Filled up applications can be submitted through the website itself. The candidate should also upload a photograph of dimensions 200 x 230 pixels and size specification between 20kb–50 kb.

How to fill the Form?

  • The candidate must be aware of the guidelines given in the notification clearly before start filling the form
  • Columns in the application form should be filled with correct information.
  • Scan and Upload the photograph
  • Filled up application needs to be submitted before the last date mentioned in the notification

    I am a central govt employee.I am MBA HR and i want to apply for HR manager job.
    As per standing orders of my organization, one can apply for Class A job only and upper limit of pay band should be 39100/-(R) 39100/- or more.
    No where in the application or at any other place on internet i could find pay band for specialist officer, due to which i am not getting permission to apply from my organization.
