Employees’ State Insurance Corporation is a statutory body formed under an Act of Parliament called as ESI Act, 1948 and the corporation is working under the administrative control of the Labour and Employment Ministry of the Government of India.

Recruitment by ESIC:

ESIC is planning to recruit professionals for the position of Grade II Specialist in Senior Scale and here the details regarding the notification issued in this respect:

Name of the Vacancy: Grade II Specialist (Senior Scale)

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 43, which is divided among ESI Hospitals functioning in different states in India as follows:

1. Andhra Pradesh ESI Hospital, Sanath Nagar: 07

2. Kerala ESI Hospital, Kollam: 06

3. Karnataka ESI Model Hospital, Rajaji Nagar, Bangalore: 02

4. West Bengal ESI Hospital, Joka (Kolkata): 06

5. Delhi ESI Hospitals in Delhi, NCR: 22

Specialists are required for different specializations like psychiatry, CT Scan, MRI, Oncology, Hematology, CTVS, Neuro Surgery, Urology, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Nephrology, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Neurology and Gastroenterology. Pay Scale: Grade II Specialist (Senior Scale), will be coming under the pay scale of Rs.15600-39100 with Grade Pay of Rs.7600 plus Non-Practicing Allowance as applicable to analogous positions in the Central Health Service.

Eligibility requirements:

Qualification: Candidates must possess a recognized medical qualification included in the I and II schedule of the Part-II of III schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act 1956. In addition, they must also possess as PG degree in the concerned specialty as given in the table-A of the notification page. They should have passed middle level examination in the official language of the particular state for which they are applying.

Experience: Candidates must possess five years experience in concerned specialty after obtaining PG Degree.

Age: Upper age limit is 45 years as on the 31st of January 2012, which is relaxble by five years for employees of ESIC or government servants. Upper age relaxation for reserved category candidates will be applicable as per government rules.

Application Fee:

Candidates falling under SC/ST/PWD category need not pay any application fee and application fee to be paid by other general category candidates is Rs.225. The fee should be paid in the form of DD to be submitted along with application drawn in favor of ESI Fund Account No.1 in any scheduled bank payable at the respective state in which the candidate wants to apply.
