Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), world’s leading and India’s largest steel producing public sector firm conducts entrance exam for the recruitment of eligible candidates to the Operator cum Technician post. The selected candidates will be placed in Visvesvaraya Iron & Steel Plant in Bhadravati which is one of the leading units of SAIL.

Structure of SAIL Operator cum Technician Entrance Test

The entrance test for the recruitment of SAIL Operator cum Technician will be of 135 minute duration. The question paper will have 5 sections each having questions of objective type pattern. The candidates have to correctly answer maximum number of questions within the limited period. Those who clear the written test will be called for GD and Interview.

Syllabus of SAIL Operator cum Technician Entrance Test

  • Section I (45 Marks) - Reasoning
  • Section II (35 Marks) - Quantitative Aptitude
  • Section III (35 Marks) - General Awareness
  • Section IV (35 Marks) - English
  • Section V (100 Marks) - Technical questions depending on the branch of study

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates those who have completed their 3 years full time diploma in Mechanical / Metallurgy / Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate marks of 65% (50% in case of SC / ST candidates) in all years/semester are eligible to apply for the entrance test conducted by SAIL.

How to Apply?

The aspirants can apply for the SAIL Operator cum Technician Entrance Test online via SAIL’s official website www.sail.co.in. Fee payment has to be done in the form of demand draft of Rs. 250/- (Rs. 50/- in case of SC/ST/PH candidates). After on-line registration, printout of the submitted application form in the prescribed format along with demand draft and other documents has to be sent through ordinary post to the Senior Manager Personnel (Employee Services), SAIL-Visvesvaraya Iron & Steel Plant, Bhadravathi-577 301, Shivamogga District, Karnataka before the due date.

How to fill the Form?

Filling the form is an important aspect which has to be done with care. Make sure that the candidates fill all the columns furnishing the exact details. No column should be left blank. All the relevant and necessary details required to be filled in the form are clearly mentioned in the information brochure. The candidates may go through that before filling the form so that one can avoid mistakes. Also make sure that the candidates possess a valid email ID before registering the application. On the reverse side of the DD, the candidates should write their name, address, application number, post applied for and category.
