Defence Institute of Advanced Technology was initially started as the Institute of Armament Studies in the year 1952. It is a deemed university situated in Girinagar, Pune. The institute comes under the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). The institute was awarded with the status of the Deemed University in the year 2000. The institute offers eight post graduate courses which includes Chemical Technology, Air Armament Engineering, Modeling and Simulation etc. The Institute was awarded with the status of a Deemed University in the year 2002. The institute runs several post graduate courses in different streams.

Job Profile:

Defence Institute of Advanced Technology is looking forward to recruit eligible Indian Nationals for filling up the following vacant faculty positions of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. The vacancies are available in the departments of Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry and Materials Engineering. Appointment on the following faculty positions will be made on direct, deputation and short term contract basis.

Posts of Professor are available in the departments of Materials Engineering under specialization of Materials ENgineering, Metallurgy, Computational Materials Sciences and Cermaic Engineering.

1. Recruitment of Professor:
Age Limit: Maximum age limit set for the post is 50 years as on 8 March 2012.
Educational Qualification: Interested candidates are required to possess Ph.D. degree with minimum 60% marks in aggregate at Bachelor’s or Master’s degree level in the appropriate branch of Engineering or Technology. Minimum 10 years experience is required to be possessed by the candidates in teaching field.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 10000.

Posts of Associate Professor are available in the departments of Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry and Materials Engineering under specialization of Physics, Applied Physics, Fiber Optics, Nanotechnology, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry etc.

2. Recruitment of Associate Professor:
Age Limit: Maximum age limit set for the post is 45 years as on 8 March 2012.
Educational Qualification: All interested candidates are required to possess Ph.D. degree in concerned branch of Engineering or Technology from a recognized university. Candidates should have secured minimum 60% marks at Bachelor’s or Master’s degree level. Minimum 5 years experience in the teaching field is also required.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 9000.

Posts of Assistant Professor are available in the departments of Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry and Materials Engineering under specialization of Polymer Chemistry, Applied Physics, Electro Optics, Physical Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Applied Physics, Nanotechnology etc.

3. Recruitment of Assistant Professor:
Age Limit: Maximum age limit set for the post is 40 years as on 8 March 2012.
Educational Qualification: Ph.D degree in the appropriate branch of the Engineering or Technology from a recognized university. Candidates should have secured minimum 60% marks in aggregate at Bachelor’s or Master’s degree level. Besides this, candidates should also possess minimum 2 years experience in teaching field.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.
