The Indian Law Society was started as a Public Charitable Trust in the year 1923. The trust established the ILS Law College in 1924. It is one among the best ten law colleges in India. Structure of the courses offered in ILS Law College, Pune

The programmes are structured on semester basis. Each semester includes a minimum of 70 classroom days. The medium of instruction in the college is English.

The B.S.L LLB programme consists of 10 semesters. The last two semesters consists of practical training also. The LLB programme is divided into 6 semesters. Each semester includes about 4-5 papers. Three of those semesters consist of optional papers. There is practical training in 4th and 6th semesters of LLB course.

The Diploma courses are offered by the ILS Law College on a part-time basis. Diploma in Taxation Laws and Diploma in Labour Laws & Labour Welfare classes are held in the evening session. But the classes of Master in Labour Laws and Labour Welfare are conducted in the morning session.

PG Diploma in Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms is a non-residential programme, which is held on all-India basis. The contact classes for this course will be conducted at the college campus in Pune.

The certificate courses are open for all the students who pursue law. The courses are held through role-plays, discussions, lectures, etc. The college provides professionals to share their experience with the students. For each session, the students are provided with highly quality reading material.

Eligibility required for various courses in ILS Law college, Pune

For pursuing the five-year degree course in ILS Law College, the candidates must have completed 12th with at least 45% marks in the qualifying exam. Those who have passed graduation in any discipline with at least 45% marks can apply for the three-year degree course in ILS.

For doing PG Diploma in Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms, the students are required to complete a Bachelor’s degree in any stream. It will take 6 months to complete the distance learning. Diploma courses can be done by any graduate. The certificate courses can also be done by 3-year law course students, 5-year law course students and as well as other professionals

Admission Procedure for various courses in ILS Law college, Pune

The ILS Law College does not organize admission tests to any of the courses. For 5-year and 3-year degree courses, the admissions are based on the marks obtained in 12th and graduation respectively. The admissions to diploma courses are done on First Come First Served Basis.

The aspirants can collect the admission form from the College office on a payment of Rs. 950/- in cash. Also, the form can be downloaded from the official website of ILS. The students should fill the hard copy of the application form. After completing it, send the form along with a DD of Rs. 1100/- to “The Principal, ILS Law College”. The DD should be taken from any nationalized bank or Cooperative bank, payable at Pune. The students can also procure the form through post.
