Aligarh Muslim University organizes AMU Common Admission Test annually to screen aspirants for admission to MBA courses. Those who will qualify in this exam have to attend a group discussion followed by a personal interview.

MBA courses offered in AMU

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) - 4 semesters
  • Master of Business Administration (International Business) (MBA-IB) - 4 semesters

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree from any recognized University. They should score at least 50% marks in the qualifying exam.

Application Procedure

Application form can be collected directly from the office campus. Aspirants can get the application form in the month of February. They should fill up the form accurately without any errors and should submit it before the first week of March.

Written Test Details

The written test will be of objective pattern and duration of the test will be 3 hours. The questions are mainly asked from the following topics.

Environmental Awareness

  • Characteristics of Indian economy
  • Basic economic indicators
  • Fiscal
  • Budgetary and monetary policies
  • Awareness about corporate sector
  • Indian and international trade
  • Technological and cultural environments

Reasoning and Intelligence

  • Elementary Arithmetic – percentage
  • HCF and LCM
  • Trigonometry
  • Relative speed
  • Coordinate geometry
  • Elementary algebra
  • Linear and quadratic equations

Analysis and Interpretation of Data

  • Comprehension at paragraph and sentence level
  • Grammar and usage
  • Pairing of words
  • Frequency and class intervals
  • Sentence structure
  • Completion of sentences

Quantitative and Numerical Ability

  • Verbal reasoning
  • Letter series
  • Coding and decoding
  • Syllogism

Comprehension and Verbal Ability

  • Union and intersection
  • Basic of probability
  • Cumulative frequencies
  • Permutation and combination

Dates to be remembered include

  • Date of Entrance Test: end of April
  • Last Date for receipt of application form: 1st week of March

Group Discussion and Interview

Aspirants who will qualify in the written test have to face a group discussion. Students will be grouped into 8 or 10 as decided by the GD Board. They will be assigned a topic on which they have to give out their views. They must be able to convey their points clearly without hurting the feeling of others in the team. Based on their performance in this round they will be called for a personal interview. This round will be to check one’s inter personal skills and also communication skills. Good confidence level should be maintained by the applicants to clear this final round of selection. Those who will qualify all these rounds of screening will be eligible for admission to MBA program.
