Fee structure and Admission Procedure in NPTI
Sponsored, Non-sponsored and Foreign candidates have separate fee structure for various courses offered by National Power Training Institute (NPTI). Sponsored candidates should pay the total fee at the time of admission while non-sponsored candidates can pay the fee in instalments. Candidates should qualify the concerned entrance test for getting admission to courses like B.Tech, PG Diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering and MBA. They can seek admission to other courses on the basis of their marks in relevant qualifying degree.

- Tuition Fee – Rs. 20, 500/- per semester
- University Development fee – Rs. 2000/- (For Direct 1st year), Rs. 1500/- (For Lateral Entry)

- Caution Deposit – Rs. 5000/-

- Foreign candidates – US $ 10,000 (SAARC Countries), US$ 11,000 (Other than SAARC Countries)

- Sponsored candidates – Rs. 1, 80, 000/- (in one instalment)
Fee for PG Diploma in Hydro Power Plant Engineering
- Non-sponsored candidates – Rs. 1, 25,000/- (in three instalments)
- Sponsored candidates – Rs. 1, 40,000/- (in one instalment)
- Foreign candidates – US$ 7500 (SAARC Countries), US$ 8250 (Other than SAARC Countries)
Fee for Graduate Engineers Course
- Non-sponsored candidates – Rs. 1, 20, 000/- (in two instalments)
- Sponsored candidates – Rs. 1, 50, 000/- (in one instalment)
Fee for MBA (Tentative)
- Course Fee (Non-sponsored) – Rs. 75, 000/- per semester
- Course Fee (Sponsored) – Rs. 3, 00,000/- per annum

Admission Procedure
Admission to B.Tech course offered at NTPI, Durgapur will be based on the score obtained in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) or All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). Score obtained in Common Entrance Test (CET) or Lateral Entry Entrance Examination conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University will be considered for the B.Tech admission of NTPI, Badarpur. For getting admission to B.Tech course offered at NTPI, Nagpur, one should qualify the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by RTM Nagpur University.
Marks obtained in the Qualifying examination will be considered as the selection criteria for Post Diploma and Graduate Engineers course offered at NTPI while admission to PG Diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering will be based on Common Entrance Test (CET) held by NTPI. Those who apply for PG Diploma in GIS and Remote Sensing will be short listed according to their marks in qualifying examination and selected on the basis of their performance in Group Discussion and Interview. Admission to PG Diploma course in Hydro Power Plant Engineering will be based on the marks obtained in qualifying degree while CAT score will be considered for MBA admission.
