‘Tata Consultancy Services’ conducts campus placements through written tests and interview. Candidates’ aptitude ability and subject knowledge are evaluated in the written test. One can expect questions from academics, general awareness and latest trends in IT industry.  Candidates will have to go through technical, management and HR interviews as part of selection process. Thorough preparation is essential to successfully clear the written test as well as interviews.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in first attempt in each class from Xth, higher secondary, diploma (if needed), graduation/ post graduation. Candidates who have completed final year examinations are also eligible to apply. Candidates should not have any pending papers/backlogs during the course of study.  TCS considers all subjects mentioned in the mark list to calculate aggregate marks. Marks scored in the improvement exams will not be taken into consideration.

Candidates who complete their education by the means of distance study or correspondence course are not eligible to apply. Candidate should complete minimum age of 18 years to apply. Candidates who have made unsuccessful attempts within six months of application are not eligible to re-apply for the TCS selection process. Short listed candidates will be intimated by email.

Selection Process

Selection procedure is based on written test, followed by three rounds of interviews. Written test is conducted to analyze the aptitude ability of the candidate. Verbal section includes 15 questions which has to be completed within 6 minutes. Quantitative section consists of 15 questions based on percentage, algebra and multiplication. The time duration for quantitative section is 10 minutes. Comprehension section caries 60 questions which has to be completed in 50 minutes. Questions will be asked from English usage, basic mathematics/algebra and comprehension.

Besides this, a psychometric test of 150 questions is conducted to check candidate’s ability to answer consistently.   Written test may be conducted online on the basis of requirements.  There will be a cut off of 75% of the total marks. Written test is followed by three rounds of interviews. Candidate can expect questions from technical, management and HR aspects.  The technical interview is based on the academics, the candidate has studied in his/her curriculum. HR interview is conducted to evaluate candidates’ personal character and temperament etc. One can expect questions from general awareness and latest trends in IT industry.

Application Process

Candidates are required to register in the “career” option in the official website of TCS. Academic details should be provided during registration. Candidates from the TCS recognized institutions are required to register under “Campus Applicants” and candidates from other institutions can apply under “Direct Applicants”.
