Anglo Eastern Maritime Academy (AEMA) is one of the reputed institutes in the country that offers maritime courses at various levels. GME- Graduate Engineering Course is a Pre Sea training programme approved by the Directorate of Shipping General, Government of India and offered by AEMA.

Eligibility

Candidates who have completed Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture with the minimum of 60% marks in aggregate from Indian Institute of Technology or from colleges recognized by AICTE / UGC are eligible to apply. Final year students can also apply for the course. Candidates should pass English as a separate subject at either matriculation/ higher secondary or in the degree programme from a recognized board or university with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate. Candidates below the age of 28 years at the commencement of course are eligible to apply.

Physical and Medical Standards

Candidates must be medically fit as per the standards set by Merchant Shipping Medical Examination Rules. Candidates should have eye sight of 6/12 in each eye without visual aids.

Fee structure

  • Admission fees: Rs. 25,000/-
  • Course tuition fees: Rs. 165000/-
  • Uniform, Books, Linen etc.: Rs. 25000/-
  • Boarding, lodging and other amenities: Rs. 130000/-
  • Caution deposit: Rs. 10000/-
  • STCW Basic Safety course fee: Rs. 8000/-

Caution deposit is refundable at the end of course after adjustments for damages and breakages etc. Total fees can be paid in two installments. Candidates will have to pay separate fees for Personal laundry, telephone and passport. Candidates are required to pay the advance fees of Rs. 50,000/- which includes the admission fees and fees for books, uniform and linen. Admissions will be made only when advance fee is paid in full.

Candidates are required to pay Rs. 170,000/- as the first installment payment. This includes Rs. 90,000/- of tuition fees, Rs. 70,000/- of hostel fees and Rs. 10000/- as caution deposit. Second installment of fees is Rs. 135,000/- which includes the remaining tuition fees as well as hostel and other amenities fees. Payments can be made by taking a demand draft in favor of Anglo Eastern Maritime Academy, payable at Mumbai. Candidates are required to write their names in pencil, behind the demand draft before submitting it. It is recommended that they should keep a Photostat copy of the same for future reference.
