NMAT for MBA- Exam Pattern and Registration Process

Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai conducts an entrance examination for admission to specialized Master of Business Administration (MBA) courses. The entrance examination, known as NMAT or Narsee Monjee Management Aptitude Test is an objective type test for 120 marks to be answered in 2 hours.

Exam Pattern for NMAT

NMAT entrance examination is a multiple choice objective based exam. There will be no negative marks for incorrect answers. Candidates are required to complete 120 questions in 120 minutes.

The examination features three sections:

  • Language Skills
  • Quantitative Skills
  • Logical Reasoning

There will be 32 questions from Language skills section. Candidates are required to answer the questions in 22 minutes. Quantitative skills section features 48 questions to be answered in 60 minutes. The final section, which is the Logical Reasoning section, has 40 questions. This section is required to be answered in 38 minutes. Those who qualify for the entrance exam and feature in the merit list are required to appear for the subsequent group discussion and interview. Candidates who are not satisfied with the NMAT score in the first attempt have the option of rewriting the exam.

Registration Process for NMAT

Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies offers a number of Business Administration courses at its various campuses.

  • Master of Business Administration Core
  • Master of Business Administration in Actuarial Science
  • Master of Business Administration Banking
  • Master of Business Administration in Capital Market
  • Master of Business Administration in Human Resource
  • Master of Business Administration in Pharmaceutical Management
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Management

Candidates can register for more than one programme. Registration can be done online. The registration fee is Rs 1,600. The late registration fee is Rs 2,150.

Candidates are required to fulfill the eligibility criteria to register for NMAT. Candidates who have completed a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline are eligible to apply. Candidates should have passed the degree examinations with 50% aggregate in the first attempt itself. Those who are appearing for the final year examination are also eligible to apply.

Applying for MBA Actuarial Science requires the candidate to be a graduate in Mathematics/ Economics/ Computer Science/Engineering/ Statistics . Those with professional qualification like A.C.A. and I.C.W.A. are also eligible to apply. Only candidates with a degree in any Life Science subjects or those streams involving Biology are eligible to apply for MBA Pharmaceutical Management. Those with a Post Graduation in Economics, Psychology or Sociology can also apply.

Graduates with post qualification work experience will be given preference in the selection process. Candidates requiring hostel accommodation should specify the same in the application. Copies of all the relevant certificates and other specified documents should be enclosed along with the application form.
