Recruitment of Specialist Officer in IOB
Specialist Officer are appointed in Indian Overseas Bank in various departments. Those who have cleared the Common Written Examination for Specialist Officer conducted by IBPS are eligible to apply. Recruitment is based on scores obtained in CWE and personal interview conducted by the Bank.
Eligibility Criterion
Candidates can apply based on the educational qualifications for the post of specialist officer in the departments mentioned below.
Agricultural Field Officer: Candidates who have completed graduation in any of the following subjects from a recognized University are eligible to apply for this post.
- Animal Husbandry
- Horticulture
- Fishery Science
- Agriculture
- Dairy Science
- Veterinary Science
- Agriculture Marketing & Cooperation
- Agricultural Engineering
- Pisciculture
Rajbhasha Adhikari: Those who have completed Master’s Program in Hindi or in Sanskrit can apply. They should have studied English as a subject in Post graduation or in graduate level.
Law Officer: Graduation in Law (LLB) from a recognized University is the requirement.
Human Resources/ Personnel Officer: Graduation in any discipline and Post Graduation in any of the following subjects is the required qualification.

- Labour Law
- Industrial Relations
Those who have completed post graduate degree/ diploma in Business Administration or Management with specialization in Human Resource are also eligible to apply.
Law Officer in MMGS II: Candidates who have completed Bachelors’ Program in Law from a recognized University are eligible to apply. Apart from this, they should have work experience of a minimum of 3 years in the Legal Department of a Public sector organization or a bank as Law Officer. Those who have practiced in Bar or judicial service can also apply.
Age Restrictions
Minimum age limit for all post is 21 years. Upper age limit allowed for all posts except Law Officer in MMGS II is 30 years. Maximum age limit for the post of Law Officer in MMGS II is 40 years. In addition to this, candidates who have a minimum of 5 years military service or those who are belonging to Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste can avail up to 5 years relaxation in upper age limit. Other Backward Class candidates can claim relaxation of maximum 3 years. Upper age relaxation for physically challenged candidates is 10 years. Those who are domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir can avail relaxation up to 5 years.
Selection Procedure
Recruitment to the post of specialist officer in various departments is carried out on the basis of scores obtained in IBPS Common Written Examination for Specialist Officer. Candidates will be short listed as per their marks for the interview. Maximum marks allotted for interview is 50. Candidates are required to obtain a minimum of 22.5 marks so as to qualify the interview.
Application Procedure
Eligible candidates are required to apply online from the official website of the organization. They have to pay Rs.100/- application fee. Candidates have the option to select the interview centers while filling up the application form. Those who have successfully submitted the application form will receive call letter for interview via email.
