Fee Structure for Ph.D in IIT, Bombay
Master degree holders with 55-60% marks (in the respective subject) can seek admission to Ph.D course in IIT, Bombay. Candidates with valid GATE or UGC / CSIR / NBHM / DBT score as well as those belonging to reserved category can enjoy concession in fee. Reserved category candidates are exempted from tuition fees whereas others (those having valid national test scores) needs to pay Rs. 5000/- as tuition fees.

Students should also pay annual medical insurance premium of Rs. 126. Those who are not residing in hostels are exempted from hostel fees.
Group I & Group II
Engineering graduates or master degree holders in the concerned subject with valid GATE or UGC / CSIR / NBHM / DBT score are included under group I. These candidates are provided with fee concession and are requested to work in teaching or research as insisted by the Institute. All other candidates are categorized under Group II.
