Eligibility and Selection Process for Sub Inspector (Civil) in CRPF
Aspirants who have passed 12th class along with a diploma qualification (civil engineering) can apply for S.I post in CRPF. Candidates should follow specified physical standards in case of height, weight, chest, eyesight etc for this post. Selection process will be a detailed process which is as follows –
- Physical Test
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Written Test
- Personal Interview
Eligibility Criteria
Intermediate qualification is necessary to apply for Sub Inspector (civil) post in CRPF. Along with this, a 3 year diploma in civil engineering is also a pre requisite to opt for this post. 50% marks is necessary to apply for this post. Aspirants between the age limit of 21 – 30 years become eligible to apply for this post. Apart from the educational qualifications, certain physical standards are also necessary for candidates to be followed for this post in CRPF which is mentioned below –
- Height – 170 cms
- Chest – Unexpanded – 80cms, Expanded -85cms
- Weight – in proportionate to the height
- Eyesight – Distant vision – 6/6 and 6/9 (without glasses)
Selection Process for Sub Inspector (Civil) in CRPF
Candidates who have applied for Sub Inspector (Civil) post must essentially undergo detailed selection steps in this case. Candidates can attend recruitment test on the basis of the applications submitted. The selection process consist of the below mentioned steps–
Physical Test – A physical screening will be done in order to confirm whether the candidates are eligible with respect to the specified height, weight, chest and eyesight measurements.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Candidates who happen to clear the initial physical test must attend the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). PET involves a race or event for a distance of 1.6 kms which candidates must complete within the given time frame of 9 minutes. It is mandatory for candidates to qualify PET so as to attend the further selection steps. CRPF departmental candidates can directly attempt the written test without attending PET.
Written Test – 100 marks objective type questions are included in this test. Following are the two main sections in this test –
Section 1 – General Awareness
- Total marks – 20 marks
Section 2 – Professional Knowledge
- Total marks – 80 marks
Candidates must compulsorily complete answering both the sections within 2 hours time limit.
Personal Interview - On clearing written exam with good marks, the next process is Personal Interview. Candidate’s attitude and general intelligence will be tested in this round which will be for a total of 20 marks. After passing Personal Interview, a thorough medical examination will be done so as to make sure whether candidates meet all the physical standards as specified for this post. Candidates selected are confirmed “Fit” for this post. The final selection step will be done after evaluating candidate’s performance in each specific category of selection. It is compulsory to attain at least 50% marks in each of these categories to get in to final selection list.
